Like everyone else in the world, I'm working from home and keeping a fair distance from other people. It's certainly a weird time, full of every sort of uncertainty as well as some wonderful moments with the family. I'm going to try and do a daily sketch to record this period of time with all it's ups and downs. Keep safe everybody. Stay healthy.

In my previous post, I showed some initial character sketches for a superhero book I was working on. Originally, I saw the character as a more real person, playing make belief. But the author wanted to the character to be a real superhero with costumes and gadgets.

This was my first pass. Still elements of the home-made and I went a bit overboard with the colouring. Pink was a no-go.

My next attempt was much closer. I used elemental colours for the costume but it still needed work.

I refined how the character looked and behaved, helping build her personality.

Getting close now. And the personality was working. The last request was for more hi-tech gadgets "like Iron Man".

And here we have it. This felt right in so many ways....
